January 24, 201111:05pmI just attended a lecture series sponsored by the Research cluster of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of UPLB. It was a pity that only about ten people were present in the lecture. Prof. Pabico had so much information to share. I was listening attentively, though a bit shy. Puro kasi ComSci faculty at students ang nandoon.I have a particular interest in Computer Programming. Even when I was an Actuarial Science Major, I wanted to have a Special Problem (SP) on insurance policies computations with accompanying computer programs. Now that I shifted my major, that thing hasn't changed. I still plan to incorporate minor programming. I dunno if my concept of programming is at a lower lever. Ano naman, at least may passion. *laughs*Back to Prof. Pabico's lecture. By the way, he was so accomplished in the field of research. Two slides weren't enough to cite the papers he presented, most of which are published in Journals. Credible is he.I was all ears as he discussed Artificial Intelligent Systems. They were used in Simulated Breeding, Artificial Neural Networks, Artificial grading of eggs, crops and animals. So much more that I even noted some interesting topics for my SP. Weee. It was time well spent. For inquiries or questions that may require detailed answers, o kung nahihiya kang magtanong in person (like me), you may e-mail him at jppabico@uplb.edu.ph or visit www.ics.uplb.edu/jppabico.
